My New Years Resolution continues....

I returned to college this week, and to my delight was informed of an extension on the classes deadline. I now have until the 26/1/11 to hand in the work. But this fortune caused a slight dilemma with the client. Will they have dates free around this point and will they work alongside these new dates. Fortunately myself and my partner have been fortunate in working with two very approachable clients and they worked with us to now meet them on the 21/1/11.
So now with this extended deadline my partner and me wish to give the client more of a show. Make the extension worthwhile. So we have decided while we will present the posters, social networking site, packaging and event. We have decided to also film the viral. We may well have bitten off more than we can chew, but we will definitely try our hardest to get it all finished. I am truly enjoying the process but the perfectionist in me wants the end product to be on point for the client. Which I think is a good point, but will cause me many sleepless nights in days to come!

On another point I watched a very inspirational film called Howl. It is based on the book Howl by Allen Ginsberg (Above) and looks at the great works of the Beat Generation. The film showed how Ginsberg viewed life. Although at the time his poem was considered crude for the sake of it, it was proven through the court of law on October 3, 1957, Judge Clayton W. Horn ruled that the poem was not obscene, and "Howl" went on to become the most popular poem of the Beat Generation. A classic line from the poem, which tested society at this time was, "who let themselves be fucked in the ass by saintly motorcyclists, and screamed with joy". This hinted at homosexuality which was shunned at this time. I find it fascinating to learn and find out about creative pieces that pushed boundaries, as it is part of where society is today.
